badbreath First I would love to point out some culprits behind bad breath:

1. Garlic: Garlic is released by the lungs after being absorbed in the blood flow.
2. Food particles that are stuck between the teeth for long hours.
3. Plaque over the gums or even below it.
4. Dieting also results in ketoacidosis. This process leads to the breaking up of chemicals during dieting which makes the mouth smell bad.
5. Smoking makes the mouth dry and leads to periodontic ailments.
6. Certain ailments like kidney failure, lung infections as well as chronic ebb of acids in the stomach leads to mouth odor.
7. Lacto intolerance may also cause mouth odor.

Here are some ways to maintain fresh breath naturally

1. Brushing: brushing the teeth after every meal is extremely health. But make sure your brush is in perfect shape. A shapeless brush has difficulty in reaching those hidden spots in your mouth.

2. Tongue cleaner: A tongue cleaner with smooth plastic edges or even metal ones scrapes the bacteria and dead cells from the tongue.

3. Dental floss: Using floss not only stops tooth decay, but it also is significant in preventing gum disease, hampering the chance of getting bad breath, and keeps your teeth clean and healthy. It is an important part of optimum oral hygiene that most of us seldom pay attention to.

4. Unripe Guava: unripe guava helps curb bad breath as it is rich in tannic as well as phosphoric acid which promote fresh breath.

5. Alfalfa Herb: Alfalfa herbal supplements helps in promoting naturally fresh breath.

6. Fenugreek: Add one teaspoon of fenugreek seeds to three to four cups of boiling water. Let it simmer on low for ten minutes. Strain this water and sip slowly like herbal tea.

7. Lemon and salt: Yes it may taste too sour. But if possible then take a small lemon wedge add some salt over it and suck on it. This will help you get rid off the smell of garlic and onion.

8. Sage Herb: Sage herbal supplements or essential oil contains antibacterial compounds that helps kill bad breath. You can also chew on raw sage leaves if you can find it near you. If not possible then sage herbal supplements are equally helpful.

9. Baking Soda: You can use baking soda to brush your teeth. Baking soda helps bring down the acidity inside the mouth which curbs the growth of bacteria in the mouth. You can also use the following mix for even better dental health:
-Two tbls of either dried lemon or orange rind
-a quarter of a cup of baking soda powder
- two tsp of rock salt

10. Water: Drinking water instead of alcoholic drinks, fizzy drinks, soda, coffee and tea stimulates saliva which helps in washing out bacteria and tiny food particles in the mouth. Chewing sugarless gums or candies also improves saliva production.

11. Anise: This seed tastes like licorice and helps in bringing down bacteria in the mouth.

12. Tea tree oil: Teatree oil has antiseptic properties and is also a disinfectant. Use toothpaste that has tea tree oil or have a tea tree supplement everyday. This helps in curbing bacterial growth in the mouth and improving freshness in the mouth.
