Women when they are expecting a child exudes a radiance which is never seen anywhere else. Some say that it is because of constant hormonal changes in the woman when they are pregnant. Most say that it is also because of the fact that there is the supposed "natural radiance" factor when a female is carrying a baby in her womb. Yes, pregnancy is beautiful; however, you may not feel exactly cheerful when you are struggling with some motherhood downfalls such as headaches, heartburn and high blood pressure. With the following tips you can easily avoid and cure the ‘downfalls’ with ease.

Headaches: The headaches during pregnancy may be caused due to the hormonal changes or tiredness and stress. Tips to avoid and cure those headaches:

1. Drink lots of water, dehydration leads to headaches.
2. Rest a lot
3. Exercise
4. Excess of caffeine causes headaches and so does total withdrawal from caffeine. If you have been going heavy on caffeine do not cut back all of a sudden and do not drink lots of caffeine.
5. Try meditative techniques to relax.
6. Take a small towel and soak it in cold water that has few lavender oil drops added to it. Place it on your forehead and rest in a dark cool room with closed eye. To add to the ambience play some soft soothing music.
7. Ask someone to massage your neck, spine and back.

Sudden headaches that do not go away for long time needs attention from your medical practitioner.

Heartburn: Hormones that are released when a woman is pregnant permits the softening of the sphincter muscle located between the stomach and the gullet. This allows the acids in the stomach back up into the gullet which causes a feeling of burning. This is more commonly experienced during the later months of pregnancy because the growing baby pushes the organs in the upward direction. Tips to cure and avoid:

1. Eat more meals with smaller portions.
2. Do not lie down after an hour of eating the meal. This may aggravate the problem.
3. Have milk and yogurt.
4. Avoid oily and spicy foods.
5. Have papaya or herbal papaya tablets.
6. Have a glassful of warm milk with a spoonful of honey added to it.

High Blood Pressure: This may occur due to physical as well as mental stress. Here are the tips to keep your blood pressure under control:

1. Exercise.
2. Have a balanced diet.
3. Have more fruits and vegetables.
4. Have a protein rich diet as it helps in controlling high blood pressure as well as eclampsia.
5. Limit red meat consumption.
6. Do not get rid of salt from your diet altogether. Have little salt in your diet.
7. Have cucumbers as it aids in reducing blood pressure.
8. Stay away from stressful situation. Avoid any kind of stress or tensions.
9. Avoid tea, coffee and cola drinks. Instead of caffeine have herbal teas such as raspberry, nettles, limeflower or dandelion.
10. Having two to four herbal capsules of passion flower everyday for several weeks is extremely helpful. You can also have fifteen drops of tincture twice or thrice in a day.
