Varicosities: Pregnancy leads to some changes in the hormonal balance and to the volume of the blood. The increase in blood flow and the loosening of the blood vessel’s muscular walls results in a harder return of blood flow from the lower part of the body, this causes varicosities. Varicosities are commonly observed in rectum, legs and vulva. The varicose veins that are caused due to changes related to pregnancy may be painful, itchy and not so good to look at. Here are some tips that may help ease out the problem:
1. Massage your entire body with good body oil everyday. Avoid massages if the varicosities have already developed.
2. Do not stand for long durations. Once you are pregnant, you need to rest more.
3. Exercise everyday. Join a sports club and indulge in swimming, yoga or walking or slow jogging.
4. Eat a good balanced diet. Have more of fiber, Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Vitamin E and Vitamin B complex everyday.
5. Have raw garlic, parsley as well as onions everyday. This helps in improving the vein elasticity.
6. Avoid crossing your legs.
7. Do not wear tight clothes. Wear loose cotton clothes.
8. Raise the height of the foot of the bed by three to four inches.

12. Herbal ointments with comfrey, plantain, yellow dock root as well as yarrow will aid in curbing the bleeding, reducing swelling as well as the pain.
Stretch Marks: Many people must have told you that it is impossible to prevent stretch marks. Now is your chance to prove them wrong. With proper skin care you can actually avoid having stretch marks. And even if you do get stretch marks, if you follow the following tips, they will be so light that anyone will hardly notice them.

Method: Fill the dark glassed bottle with wheatgerm and almond oil. Mix fifteen drops of lavender essential oil. Then add ten drops of neroli essential oil. Massage with this oil everyday after taking a bath.
Pelvic Pain: As you advance to the later stages of pregnancy, and the weight of the baby increase, you may experience pelvic pain. The following tips may help avoid the pain:
1. Exercise everyday
2. Rest properly
3. Use a warm compress on the affected area
4. Whenever you feel tired just rest.
